Home Buying and Financing is a Team Effort
It takes teamwork to make your home buying experience go smoothly. Here are some of the things you can expect your Real Estate Agent and Mortgage Loan Professional to assist you with, and the things you can do to keep your mortgage loan and home purchase moving forward.
Your Real Estate Agent:
- Will search through homes on the market that are desirable and in your price range.
- Will present homes that meet your needs based on the information you’ve given.
- Can advise you on attributes of a home (location, features, etc.) that make it a good value, or that may reduce its value if you were to buy the home and resell it.
- Will negotiate a price with your interests in mind. If you are prequalified for a mortgage through MBTFCU, your realtor can present you as a qualified buyer to the home seller which may result in the seller taking your offer over another, even if your offer is lower.
Looking for a reliable Real Estate Agent? Real Estate Masters offers value to home buyers and sellers.
Your MBTFCU Mortgage Loan Officer:
- Will review your financial information and consider your personal situation to build a loan that is best suited to your budget and needs.
- Will keep you updated throughout the mortgage loan process. They will tell you what, if any, additional information may be needed and advise you of deadlines that need to be met. They will explain the terms and conditions of the loan and answer your questions.
- Will keep your Real Estate Agent informed of the loan progress and provide the information that’s needed to help you buy your new home. We only share information about you that is needed to complete your mortgage loan. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Will get you the best rate and the lowest fees possible on your loan. We will work to help you save thousands on closing costs and interest payments over the life of your loan.
You can help by:
- Keeping your Real Estate Agent informed of any questions, concerns or developments as they relate to the property you are interested in buying.
- Providing all necessary information, documentation, and decisions to your Real Estate Agent and Mortgage Loan Officer. Keeping the process moving can help make sure you get the property and rate you want should market conditions change.
- Being objective when making business decisions regarding your new home and make sure your decisions are in your best interests. Your MBTFCU Mortgage Loan Officer is on your side, and can help you consider your options.
- Coming to MBTFCU for pre-approval before you begin shopping for a home. This will give you an idea of how much home you can reasonably afford, and provide additional negotiating power with home sellers.
